COMPETITION RULES
- The band must be made up of Three or more people.
|
- All band members must be between the ages of 14 and 23 at
the time of the competition.
|
- All Band members will live in or around the Dyfi Valley Area
of Mid Wales. This area will include Dolgellau, Machynlleth
and Tywyn and their surrounding areas. The Festival committee
wil judge as to whether bands are within the area of benefit
|
- Bands will not have a recording contract with a record label
|
- Bands will play for a maximum of 20 minutes
|
- All songs must include vocals
|
- All bands will play a 3 song set, of which at least two will
be their own material
|
- Bands will share a drum kit but can add cymbals at the direction
of the Festival engineer
|
PRIZES
|
- The prize for the winning band will be a full day in the SAIN
Records recording studio where the winning band will be able
to work with the studio engineer and produce a demo CD.
|
- The winning band will receive a trophy which they will hold
for one year
|
- The winning band and the runner up will be given the opportunity
of opening the Friday Night Concert in the Festival Marquee
on Friday 29th August 2008
|
- Prizes and /or trophies will be awarded for suitable performances
at the judge's discretion
|
CODE OF CONDUCT
|
- Bands whose fans attempt to disrupt the competition, for any
reason, may end up causing their band to be disqualified
|
- Bands who do not adhere to the rules will be marked down by
the judges
|
- Any intimidation, sexist, racist or verbal / physical abuse
of any kind from either the band or audience will not be tolerated
and appropriate action will be taken by the judges, Festival
committee and security staff
|
- All persons wishing to purchase age restricted items from
the bar will be required to produce, on demand, a valid photo
driving license or passport. ( Other forms of ID Will not be
acceptable )
|
- All persons bringing their own drinks into the Festival Marquee
or onto the Festival field will be requested to hand over their
drinks or be evicted from the site
|
- Breeches of the venue security and health & safety regulations
will not be tolerated and may lead to disqualification. And
/ or eviction from the site
|

Application form notes
- The contact person need not be a band member but must be
over the age of 18 and responsible for the band.
- Please enclose any photographs, CD s etc relevant to your
application.
- Your details will be kept on our database and we will use
this information to contact you with further Festival information.
- Any music recordings, photographs or profile information may
be used in Corris Festival promotional materials.
- The Corris Festival will not sell the information on its database
and your details will not be passed on to anyone else.
