Pot Boilers

The PotBoilers (some know them as the PotBellies) are the biggest Newgrass band in the UK. Newgrass is a term to describe their music, i think? Which is a new approach to Bluegrass music. Bluegrass was developed originally in Kentucky in the United States, and uses many Celtic folk tunes and songs such as Meysydd yr Amerig (The Green Fields of America) and Nyth y Gwcw (Cuckoo’s Nest) in its repertoire, though the Americans would probably argue that they wrote the tunes themselves! The PotBoilers have developed the old Bluegrass tradition, and included drums and electrics into their unique sound, and made it into Newgrass, forming the perfect music for all social get-togethers, halls and festivals....more
