Kate Binningsley and Friends

Kate has been playing guitar and song writing since the age of 7. Now at 21, having been involved with several bands in the Northwest of England and Mid Wales, she performs her own material as a solo artist.

Often accompanied by Cello, mandola and Didgeridoo, Kate’s sound is distinguished by her heartfelt and introspective vocals and her rhythmic and percussive guitar technique. Kate has been compared to Rickie Lee Jones, Natalie Merchant, and Joni Mitchell, and has been heavily influenced by the song writing of Tom Waits & Bob Dylan. In July 2007 she recorded her debut solo EP with Nigel Stonier at the Loft Studios in Liverpool and is currently promoting it.

Kate’s music has received support from singer/ songwriters Amy Wadge, Sandi Thom & Thea Gilmore, as she builds up her musical reputation in Wales, Manchester, Liverpool and Bristol ....more
