Dragon Strings is an exciting and versatile electric string ensemble based in South Wales, UK. Made up of local musicians who all have vast experience of classical string and orchestral playing but also have a vision of music for the future.

What music do we play? Everything! From traditional works by Bach and Vivaldi to modern day classics found in film scores and TV shows, plus chart hits past and present.

Using groundbreaking technologies to achieve performances with a difference, we promise to entertain and delight audiences of all ages and tastes.

Even though the ensemble was formed by a group of friends to have some fun, there is a very strong educational element to Dragon Strings. Many of the band are instrumental teachers or in other areas of education and a couple of the main concepts are to educate ourselves with the new technologies available today and to show younger string players that it is cool to play the violin or cello. Also, by using all electric instruments, various effects and even an electric drum kit, we aim to provide audiences with a chance to hear a programme of music not necessarily associated with a string orchestra....more
